Stauder Technologies won a $9.6 million contract extension f=
rom
the U.S. Navy for more devices used to locate enemy targets, the Department=
of
Defense said Tuesday.
The Navy awarded the St.
Peters, Mo., fi=
rm a
$15 million contract in April to supply the U.S. Marine Cor=
ps
with devices that are used to locate enemy targets. Marine forward observers
and air controllers will use the equipment, known as Target Location,
Designation and Hand-off Systems (TLDHS), to guide its artillery gunners and
close air support pilots in battle zones.
The new order increases the number of TLDHS units Stauder wi=
ll
supply to 1,016.
After the firm won the $15 million order, Jerry
Stauder, co-founder of Stauder Technologies, said the com=
pany
will spend about $3 million to add abo=
ut
18,000 square feet to its office and manufacturing facility in St. PetersCommercial Park.
Work will be performed in St.
Peters and is expected to be completed by August 2=
008.
Stauder Technologies provides custom software for the commer=
cial
and military markets.
